Bridge and Tower Printing

This term we have been studying Bridges. For our art, we have produce some printing. Use created our own printing blocks and printed our own bridge or tower. Our block was made out of cardboard, and we added patterns to the blocks to give our bridge or tower more effect. We then bordered our work with pastel borders.

These are our amazing printed bridges and towers.

Election Inquiry (Day 2)

Today we continued to create our presentations to share with the class.  This is our CREATING part of our Inquiry process.

Each 'party'  had to remember to include a large heading to 'capture ' the
                               voters attention.
They also had to include reasons to convince the voters that their
                                ideas were the best.

They wrote their reasons on different shapes and colours of paper.
Each Party shared their presentation.
This is called The COMMUNICATIONS part of our Inquiry.
After each party had shared their presentation we had to do our voting
                                                                  at the voting station.
Each child could only vote once and
they could not vote for their own party.
                                                           There were 12 parties.
There was a small pot for each party and they put in a
coloured bean to make their vote.
Here is Austin making his vote. He is the first child to vote.
Each child came into the room quietly and said their name
and then they voted for their favourite party.

When the last person voted, Mrs. M.R. counted
how many beans there were in each pot.
The  Dog Party was the WINNER!
There were 8 beans in their voting pot....

Then Room 15 and 16 discussed the results and we
displayed our data on a sheet.
We used Tally marks to record our results.
Reflecting is the final part of our Inquiry.
We got into pairs and we discussed why we thought the Dog Party won?
How did they convince us to vote for them?
                                                               THINK/PAIR/SHARE
Here are some of our thoughts we shared with the class.

This was our winning party.... CONGRATULATIONS to the DOG PARTY!
Rooms 16 and 15 learnt a lot through this Election Inquiry...
The children have very inquiring minds.

                                                             A very enjoyable 2 days !
Happy holidays and keep safe :)
